    K98 Scope Mount, B-Square

Natchez is selling a scope mount by B-Square that mounts to the rear sight.

So non-permanent. No drilling or modding. No bolt bending.

This sounds great, and the price of 21.49 is pretty damn cheap. I would like to scope my VZ24.

Just don't know if its worth it and or if it is even accurate. There just isn't a lot of adjustment you can do with single-screw mounting in that location.

Please do not waste your money on a b square mount. That particular item (I know because I tried it with a VZ 24 about 5 years ago) will not hold zero. There are not enough set screw points to hold it solid to where the rear tangent mount is. The 8mm recoil will make that mount move all over the place, and give you nothing but grief.

Bummer. But thanks. That is exactly the information I was looking for.

Are there any known scope mounts that do not require "bubbaing" your rifle?

        Check out S&K:

Note that I do not own any of their products, but on other forums I have heard good things about them.

Thanks for the link. Looks like they have two models, one that requires a bent bolt and the "scout" series that use the rear sight.

If the B-square mount can't hold zero in that position I wonder if the S&K "scout" can?

Also they seem to call it a CZ24 when it is in fact a VZ24.. *shrug*

Email them. I hear they provide good customer service.

            Check this THR thread:

There probably are others out there. Google for more.

I'm thinking of getting their mount for one of my post-war MAS 36s.

Very good information on that THR thread.

Is that AIM mount really a Picatinny Rail or am I seeing things? I had this sudden vision of a Vz24 with a Red-Dot ;p

You come through twice for me, thanks a ton A1C

No problem. If you do get that scope mount, post pics!

FYI, I got the B-Square mount a while back and found it did not fit on a German K98. There are set screw that are supposed to go through the holes on the "ears" for the front sight, but the screws were too big for the holes. I contacted B-Square, this was the reply:

We supply this kit with two Socket Head Cap Screws that are 4mm X 8mm Sir. These screws fit 90+% of all of the large Ring Mauser rear sight ladder sight attach brackets. You and either slightly open those holes or return the mount to where it was purchased it.
I ended up returning it and getting a S&K, which seemed to be better made and fit without issue.. This is the S&K:

+1 on the S&K scout mount for the K98k. I have one and it is rock solid.

I want to see a Kar98K with a scout rail with either an Aimpoint or Eotech on it.

I used to shoot milsurp and I was disappointed in the scope mounting options at the time, that was over 10 years ago and I don't have any of those rifles anymore so I haven't looked in quite a long time.

An Enfield No 5 Jungle Carbine with a red dot has always interested me though.
