Lots of ammo, stock up on the M2 clipped HXP before its all gone. Other than some lube and cleaning stuff you are good to go.

They come with a manual that shows how to tear it down. I'd take it apart and clean and lube it. Also be sure to get ammo that's OK to use in an old gun like a Garand.
        This is what you get.

        Because milsurp.

Be forewarned, they are slathered in cosmo!!! My SG SA was dripping with the good stuff.
You need grease, not oil. I use molly grease from autozone and it works perfectly.

My latest SA SG was free of almost all cosmo. There was some on the op rod spring and rear sight.

                          Winnie?......That's just wrong.

I think your refering to the adjustable gas plug. You need that to shoot commercial 30-06.

I call my 1917s Winnie and Eddy too but okay let's call Winnie a WRA to appease some people.

As someone already mentioned, unless you are getting a correct grade which is not available in WRA flavor, it will be pretty much clean of cosmo. Also, shoot only M2 ball, reloads that mimic powder burn rate of the M2 or commercial rounds specific to Garands or get an adjustable gas plug.

Hopefully you will receive it on time for next months Long Range Match or Silhouette match in October at Sac Valley Shooting Center. Come on out and I shoot one of the match or both and I guarantee you will have fun or will make fun of us like me that's not very good at it.
