    vz24 question

Have a non matching vz24 that has a feed ramp issue, would it take away form the value of the rifle if I had this repaired by a gunsmith?
Is there really any value left in this rifle considering it is non matching?
And finally would having a C&R rifle repaired be look down upon by collectors?

    Thank you

    1. Yes, but myself personally would prefer a working shooter. Also depends on how much work is done. Should only be slight smoothing of the ramp needed.
    2. Yes, but not as much.
    3. Yes, but see #1. Some VZ24's are worth more than others. Give us the details.

I don't think it would take much value from something like that with no matching number and then overall condition is another factor to look at. Your Not putting a scope on it, that would take a lot of value from it. He would probable just fix the feed ramp which I think would be no big deal.

I don't think it would be a big deal. Repairs are sometimes needed, this sounds like one of those times.

^^-- This. Unless there is something rare or unique about this rifle?

What can go wrong with a feed ramp that has been working for 60+ years?

There is a gouge in the ramp that shaves the cases. There is really nothing unique about the rifle.
Thank you very much for your replies.

A curved hand stone should remove that damage fairly easily, or perhaps some 400 grit paper wrapped around a dowel.
I don'r suggest a dremel and fine stone unless you are rather proficient with a dremel. A dremel can quickly remove a surprising amount of material if you let it get away from you.
