Spanish Mauser in 308 Win

I just picked one of these up, not sure if im gonna keep her or sell her. Any thoughts on a Spanish Mauser rechambered in .308 win. It has a sling and cap that covers the barrel for storage. This isnt one of those sporterized models and it still has Spanish markings on it.

Is it an FR8 or FR7? FR8 =straight bolt stronger action and FR7=turned down bolt

There are at least several models of spanish mausers converted to 7.62x51
Mod 1916 guarda civil carbines, which are basically model 93 mausers.

FR-7, which are model 1916 spanish rifles converted to 7.62 and have a modified appearance. These are also basically model 93 mausers.

Fr-8, which are model 43 spanish rifles converted to 7.62, have the same general appearance as the fr-7 but are basically model 98 mausers.

There is some controversy about the wisdom of firing full power 308 ammo in the modified m93s, indeed some info would infer they are really chambered for a lower powered CETMA 7.62x51 cartridge used only in spain.
The FR-8 will eat anything you want to feed it.

It is unfortunate that there appears to be no official info on these conversions. The Spaniards were not very helpful in the marking of the fool things in a manner that would not leave this confusion..

FR8 are fun to shoot. I had one for a year or so. Loved it but need to move on an build something different.

I have a garda 1917 and it is a fun gun. I keep it in truck and out to 200 yards with original sights it shoots great. I paid 60 bucks for it at ontario show and put an old model 70 stock on it that took little inletting and glass bedded it. Have taken 2 hogs that happened upon when fixing fence did a nice job with 150 gr barnes x.
