Slight issue with my Mosin

Its a 1938 Izhevsk (or Izzy)

Anyway I took it to the range for the first time yesterday and on a couple occasions when pulling back the bolt, it not only ejected the shell of the spent round, but ejected the next round as well. This might have happened around 3 or 4 times in 60 rounds, so im not terribly concerned about it but is there any small issue or fix that I could do to remedy this?

its a problem with your interrupter. you probably just need to take it fully apart and thoroughly clean the cosmoline out of it to the fix the problem. if not then you need a new interrupter

Well I let it soak in mineral spirits for quite a while to get the cosmoline off....so I dont think its that...just found a vid on youtube that shows a fix for it. It looks pretty simple to correct. Thanks again for the info

Mosin parts list here, most replacement parts are pretty cheap.

The interrupter would have to be broken , bent or loose to function like that.

I'm thinking maybe the small screw got loose

Look into the receiver and push on the interrupter to make sure its intact and firm.
Maybe take the action out and verify all is present and secure.

Its a simple mechanism so it shouldn't be too hard to troubleshoot.

do not overlook cleaning the cosmo out of the stock as well, there is a relief notch miled out in the stocks on mosins to allow the interrupter and its leaf spring to move into freely, if that area is caked in cosmo it could give you problems.
