Yugo Ammo Anyone?

So unfortunately for me, I bought my mosin nagant right when the all the yugo surplus ammo ran out. However, I recently have seen some web sites coming back with yugo 7.62x39, as they were out for a while. Any one know anytime soon if anyone stateside will be getting and yugo 7.62x54, or if there are any webbsites still selling it. Thank you guys.

it appears the Yugo 7.62x54 surplus has dried up. i have one can left and now i'm kind of hesitant to use it

Haven't seen that in ages. Gun broker maybe but expect to pay a premium for it.

that's Soviet, not Yugo. Yugo is non magnetic and, i believe, a different grain weight

That is regular surplus steel case, steel jacketed bullet. Some gun ranges will not let you shoot bullets that stick to a magnet, those do.

Yugo ammo that people are talking about is brass cased with a lead core copper jacketed bullet that does not stick to a magnet.

No Yugo non-mag online for some time now.

Last time I saw Yugo 54r was about 3 months ago at sgammo. It was repackaged ammo and cheaper than any Yugo I'd ever gotten before that (about 1/3 cheaper). Picked up a case because prior to that, I'd been looking to get more Yugos and didn't see any for about 6 months. I'm pretty sure supply is starting to run out and you just need to be persistent in looking and jump on it whenever you see it.

I picked some up from SG. Dirty but fires fine.

See,s like when the well dries up, all of a sudden there is a short influx. I would not be surprised to see more show up. It's a common enough caliber.

Hell, the 8mm Mauser cans I bought from SG, the latest, was about half 70's 80's and about 1/5 of that was the sniper ammo. You never know.

just went to a gunshow in Gettysburg yesterday. Someone had a few boxes of 54r Yugo for $5 a pop.
