I just got a call from the San Diego Sheriff's department about my C&R application that I put in a couple of months ago. I have had my FFL issued for a bout 6 weeks now. The deputy I talked to was friendly and asked a canned question: "Do you intend to use this license to do business buying and selling firearms or engage in a dealing firearms?" (something like that). I answered no ma'am, just a collector. She replied "Thank you very much, we have to ask, have a nice day". And that was that.

That's the first time I have heard of a CLEO taking any action what-so-ever on the required notification.

Depends on where you are located, if you call 911 what agency would come to your door? in the city limits then send it to the city PD, if out of city limits where the sheriff would come then send it to the head of the sheriffs office.Wanted: Spent Berdan primed Yugo 7.62x39 & 7.5x55 GP11 Swiss brassComment

You got the call because you live in Santee, which is patrolled by the SDSO. And the person you talked to wasn't a deputy, it was a license clerk, just checking up to make sure you weren't planning on running a business.
