Mail handgun

Hi,
Have C&R. Does that give me the ability to mail (US Postal Service) a handgun to a licensed gunsmith?

It's important that you understand that you are neither a licensed manufacturer or licensed dealer. Once you have a firm grasp on that fact then read the entire domestic mail manual pertaining to the mailability of firearms and/or handguns.

The short answer to your question is 'no'.

I understood that C+R pieces could be shipped to license holders by the USPS.

If true, why would a C+R not be able to ship to a full FFL gunsmith?

Licensed Dealers and Licensed Manufacturers can ship handguns in the mail (USPS) to other Licensed Dealers and/or Licensed Manufacturers.

Licensed Collectors can not ship handguns in the mail (USPS).

Antique firearms sent as curios or museum pieces may be accepted for mailing without regard to 12.1.3 through 12.1.6.
