    03a3 Problem

Need some help from you 03a3 owners out there...trying to put my sporterized 03a3 back to original config. and am having trouble fitting my handguard ring. It will not seat all the way back onto the receiver! Any suggestions/tips/tricks? 1903a3.jpg The ring is unmarked on the inside (no stamp) so I am assuming it is a smith corona ring?

    Are you sure it's a 03A3 ring and not a M1917 ring?

I think so, there's no "R" or any marking on the inside so I am assuming it is a smith corona (unmarked). I thought the 1917s all had a stamp.

        Some are unmarked.
Other than it being the wrong ring, I have had some tight fitting rings when building up a M1917. Lube and tapping with a wooded dowel got it into place. Check and see if there are any burrs or debris on the receiver.

Yeah this ones really small, so just going to order another ring and see if that works...a cheap part at least. Thanks guys for the input

Maybe it is for a number 4 Lee Enfield. That would be smaller.
