    another Bubbaed Milsurp

this one started as a pile of parts. leftovers from restoring two rifles. stock is from a Mcmillian sporter. barrel is from the McMillian also. it still needs an adj trigger with its safety, and posibly recrowned. I was going to send it out to be polished and blued but I think instead it will get a Krylon facelift. its going to be a hunting rifle so why not. DR

looks very good. at least you used parts/rifles that were pretty much just parts to put it together, that should keep the purists at bay

I look forward to some range reports before you take it hunting but if you want to some shots of what you take would be awesome as well ofc.

That looks like a much more refined version of one I pieced together from the scrap bin. I took my first buck with mine. Good for you, saving that one. That's not bubba, that is saving something from the scrap heap.

        This +1000.

Anyone who has seen my posts on this board knows I'm a big time purist. This, though, is definitely not Bubba. I'd much rather this rifle be what it is than it be just parts sitting on the scrap heap.

        Nice save!

(Out of curiousity, what action did you use? Small ring or large ring?)

It started as a 96 mauser.[ small ring]. I put a 96 swede barrel back on it. I traded a shotgun to a friend to turn the bolt and drill for the scope mounts. He did a realy nice job on the bolt. I know he spent some time scratching his head on the mount also. In the late 80s McMillian sporterised a bunch of these from Swedens millitary target teams rifles. at that time they were worth only around $100. jump forward 30 years and those same rifles are now worth restoring. both of the restored rifles hes using in military matches.
