    Mosin Nagant

The first round does not want to feed after loading the stripper clip it seems to happen when the barrel is hot. Is there a right and wrong way to load the stripper clips? The round goes in a downward motion when closing the bolt.

yes there is. because of the rimmed cartridges weather you use strippers or not you have to make sure that the rim on each round is infront of the round below it or else when you try to feed a new round from the mag its rim gets stuck on the rim of the round directly below it.

oh yea if they are the new production cheap strippers don't bother with them just load it by hand. these new production ones that are out there are so bad that even if you load them into the stripper right chances are very good they won't stay that way before you try to load it into the mag unless you just put them on the stripper.

my advice is if you have to have 5 rounds in load by hand 1 at a time. if your target shooting just load one round at a time.

It's called rimlock, and the interrupter is supposed to prevent it. Some people say that if your rifle is operating 100% correct, then it doesn't matter which order you load it.

I've always had to make sure the round 1's rim is in front of 2, but have never had problems with rounds 2-5.

i dont see how the interrupter/ejector on the mosin nagant serves any purpose other than keeping rounds in the magazine from coming out the top and as an ejector spring.

i can cause rimlock by hand loading rounds in through the top of the mag but its harder to cause than by using stripper clips esp the new strippers out on the market today they suck bad and will even when loaded and handled properly cause rimlock to happen.

The interruptor prevents rimlock and when working correctly, you don't need to stagger your rounds or any other nonsense.

However, your rifle might just need to have the action shimmed a bit further away from the magazine/trigger assembly. If the magazine assembly is riding too high in the action, it can snag a round when you move the bolt forward.

Some Mosin's are a little picky, and have their own personality. You gotta learn what they like.

They are both Russian 1934 and 1937 and it is just the first round all the others are fine.

When loading by hand, make sure to push each round down as much as possible.
