    Winchester Model 70 Magazine problems.

My Grandfather gave me his Winchester Model 70 a long time ago (he has since passed) and when I load 5 rounds into it and when I shoot 2 - 3 rounds the bottom of the magazine opens up and all the ammo falls out.

I'm thinking it is just worn and won't hold like its suppose to. Maybe the spring in it? I can't pull it open by hand though. Does anybody know where to get replacement parts for it. I looked on the internet and can't find anything that is helpful.

    -Thanks.

I collect Military Arms and enjoy shooting in local matches. I also collect older Lever Actions, especially those chambered in odd/old cartridges. If you have a nice old Winchester or Marlin in 25-20, 32-40, 38-55, 40-60, 45-70, etc etc, please PM me and we can work out a deal.

It's either a worn latch, the tongue on the floorplate itself or the latch spring.

        Still check with gun-parts.com.

Jim Wisner won't have the parts though.
