I let my 03 lapse this year. Sent in the paperwork 6/15 and got my new license today. Seems pretty typical from what I have read.
The first one took 3 weeks....

            Congradulations!

I obtained my first C&R license back in 1972.

There are still a few "California friendly" dealers out there.

see http://www.empirearms.com/cal-ffl.htm for some useful info.

              Sweet!
Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...

I belong to the group that uses firearms, and knows which bathroom to use.

I have a feeling that it has to do with the CLEO letters. I have to think that a beurocracy like BATFE handles each application the same way, so the only variable is the letter. Mine was done quickly because I took it right to the person in licensing that handles that stuff. Rudolfz, what did you do with yours?

The CLEO letter has nothing to do with the process unless the CLEO contacts ATF with some concerns. ATF does not normally contact the CLEO.

I just sent a copy of the application to my Cleo with no explanation letter at all.
