    Is it worth it?

If I'm only thinking about getting one or two C&R type rifles, is it worth it getting a C&R license, or is that just an invitation to spend way too much money on things I don't even know that I want yet?

    Thanks!

If you are interested in C&R guns, apply for your license. You will save a lot of money & time by not having to pay dealers and driving around to find someone to do C&R transfers for you.

How much money you spend depends on how much self control you have

P.S. The first thing you need when you get your license is probably a Garand

      Yes it's worth it,

You'll save that much in Discounts alone
not counting getting it shipped directly to you

Check out the gun wiki for discount info

        Yes.

        Yes.

As posted before this, the license fee is returned through discounts from suppliers even if you never buy a weapon

        Same answer as always.

Yes it is worth and I laugh when you say you only want 1 or 2 C&R now but question whether you'll end up with more. So yes it is an open invitation to buy stuff you never knew you needed until you saw it.

Still with the FFL or DROS fees that you save on those 1-2 guns you wanted plus discounts at places like Brownells, MidwayUSA, etc., I don't see how you can lose with a C&R.

I only used it for discounts since getting it in April up until a month ago.

The Brownells and Midway discounts are enough reasons to get it. I usually save atleast 20% per order buying from them with the C&R.

It paid for it self with one order from Midway.

The cost of the C&R almost covers one DROS fee.

in addition to the insightful wisdom above, you will save big by purchasing with your C&R. Get the C&R.

Yeah. I have no self control. Hence the concern over getting licensed...

Thanks for the wiki. I was unaware that there were other discounts to be had once licensed. Looks like I'm going to go for it.

What makes you think you'll only get one or two. Don't kid yourself.

I just wanted one K31, but ended up with seven at one point. I'm reducing the number of K31s so I can get more Garands.

Don't fight it. Just enjoy it.

Also the biggest C&R discount is to buy a RRA National Match trigger from Brownells. $140 vs. $75. This purchase alone paid for my C&R license more than twice over. People w/ AR15s who have no interest in C&Rs should get a C&R just for this discount alone.

I just got mine today. My plan is to get a couple nice K98s. The mark up at gun stores is ridiculous! I've seen K98s that look like they were run over by a tank going for $500 at Reddings! I'm sure I'll save buying them online.

To be honest, I'm worried too. I really want to keep my gun collection small and trim. K31s are really starting to look nice. Then of course there are the Lee Enfields....

                        Yes it is worth it.

Yes it will make you buy more rifles & C&R pistols when you're visiting other states.
Alot isn't a word and allot isn't the word you think it is.

I'd really like a Colt 1903 frame, bad finish okay!
I'm also looking for a good deal on a 1911 frame or two for budget/spare parts builds.
