Another stock question

I think I know which way to go but would like others opinions on a replacement Garand stock. I'm thinking the cmp replacement with all the metal hardware is the way to go.

Any other options that may be better?

The CMP stocks are usually thicker and heavier along the lines of the post war stocks. I prefer the lighter thinner original WW2 stock.

I just got a Boyd's stock and handguards. It is definitely of the post-war, blocky type. The lower handguard is so oversized that it's hard to get the metal onto it without chipping it. It is nice wood, though.

Get CMP with the installed metal. Reshape the stock with a sanding block if it is too chunky.

It was my understanding that the CMP stocks are slimmer than the standard Boyds stocks. They are slimmed down by Dupage. Dupage also has the slimmer WW2 style.
Periodically, Boyds makes a run of the slimmer WW2 style stocks. You might keep and eye out for those.

The CMP commercial stocks are the same as the Dupage commercial stocks, in fact thats where they get them them.
They are Boyds that are slimmed down version sold by Dupage stamped with CMP logo
