    New Mosin ;)

    So...

Pics will follow when she's cleaned off and I can handle her without smelling like a Soviet bunker...

1928 Tula with a hex reciever. Import marked with dotmatrix lettering but it's very discreet just below the front sight on the right side of the barrel. The bore looks great - I'm sure it'll look even better when it's cleaned out a little, but it's got strong rifling.

The furniture is almost perfect and the bluing on the metal work is spot on. She's got all matching serials, none of them armory forced and I think I may be completely in love.

Looking at the rear sight, she's also got that gap between the barrel and the sight - suggests a possible Ex-Dragoon?

Anyway, inclusive of shipping and a $20 handpick (I wanted specifically a Tula from as early as they had - which I was happy to give an extra $10 handpick for) she set me back $120 from AIM Surplus. I think the guy I talked to on the phone was called James, although I may be wrong. Anyway, great guy to talk to, great service and for what I recieved, fantastic prices.

Like I say, pics will follow tomorrow when she's cleaned off a bit. As far as the whole obsession with giving it a gender, she's the most beautiful Russian I've held in my hands since a vacation in Cyprus, so my new 91/30 is called Svetlana... after that lovely schoolteacher from St. Petersburg...
    1928 Tula 91/30 | 1944 Izhevsk M44 | As yet unknown 91/30 and M44 - still in the box | 1976 Walther P-1
...Daddy, what else did you leave for me?

          Nice score on the ex-dragoon.

I got a 1926 Tula ex-dragoon from AIM and couldn't be happier. I didn't pay for the hand select so it was luck of the draw. I have ordered several times from AIM and have been very happy each time, enjoy.
