    Mosin Starter Kit

I finally ran across what I thought was a fair deal on a Mosin and I've thought the carbine looked cooler than the pitch fork models. I really haven't done a great deal of research on all the detail differences, but aparently the carbine supply is starting to become sporadic. So when I was offered this M44 '46 Izzy for a C note, I dove in, and as the scuttle butt is ammo will be going up, I bought a tin of ammo too. Seems like a functional rifle and the bore cleaned up ok but the grooves are dark, but no pits that I could detect. Over all condition is good and has been refurbed at some point (bolt ground, new numbers). Reviever, trigger guard/mag, butt plate are matching. I ONLY NEED ONE PAX

Oh dude, you got taken. I hate to see something like this happen to another Calgunner so, just this once, I will make an exception and will pay you the $100 you paid and some extra for postage so you can mail that trouble maker to me and have it out of your life.

Do you really want people gathered around you at the range trying to figure out if you are the source of those shock waves and fireballs? I am only making this offer because of the children.

On a serious note, congrats for getting a really fun gun at a great price.

I bought my first m44 for $49.99 at Big5. Now I wish I had bought at least 10 at that price. A good looking good shooting m44 is deemed to be a great deal these days . . . congrats!

That's a great price for that rifle heck it's getting hard to find $100 91/30s now.

Congrats! all you're missing is the dead Nazi bench rest to stabilize your shots.

If you could take some pictures of the top of the barrel and receiver as well as the stock, that would be great. The stock does not look like the standard Russian red shellac refurb.
If you got an all matching (barrel, bolt, magazine, buttplate) M44 for $100, you did very well indeed.

Well, I was kinda' thinking that a US made Mosin in excellent shape wouldn't be so bad.
finlog, the bolt #s have been ground and restamped and at some point a previous owner worked the stock lightly. Thanks guys, I like it a lot. PAX

P.S. anybody got a spare M44 cleaning rod?

Rick Reich is the best source for cleaning rods, I know.

                          Hahahahaha.

Half the reason I want a Mosin-Nagant eventually is that I'll very likely own a weapon that has shed Nazi blood.
