    Can a .....

I want 2 guns for J&G sales, Can I pay J&G sales and have the guns shipped to a buddy who holds a C&R... and if so.. Who wants to be my buddy....

why not just get the C&R myself? Good question, I am filling out the paperwork, but I heard it takes a while.. and I want to make sure they dont sell out...

The 03-FFL is for improving your own collection and not for someone else's benefit.

No....actually I believe that would be considered a straw purchase.

If they're long guns he can dros them both at the same time(on the same form). no need to wait...If he wants them shipped to an 03FFL they have to be long guns.

I think and can be mistaken on this. Your friend can order them (for himself) with his C&R and then sell them to you. Of coarse not immediately because then you might be considered a dealer.

There's a difference between "can I get away with it" and "is it legal". My two cents is if it is intentionally purchased for you by him, it would be a straw purchased no matter how long you waited to transfer it to you. Also as stated above, an 03 is strictly for the purposes of improving your own collection.

Which two guns were you looking at? I've called J&G on pistols before to see if the sellout risk was high, or if I could wait until my next trip out that way to pick them up. They are really nice guys (and gals over there), shoot them a call.

I thought a straw purchase was only if the person in question was not legally allowed to own firearms?

On the dros form it asks are you the actual transferee/buyer of the firearms listed in this form. You put yes you are lying you put no they'll ask why can't the other person come in and fill it out. And probably stop the sale, I know I would

A straw purchase is if you have someone else buy a firearm for you. Doesnt matter if you are legakl to own a firearm or not.
It is not legal to have a Curio and Relics license holder order firearms for you for two reasons. One is its a Straw purchase the other is his license is to enhance his own collection ,not yours.
