even if it is legit, and i don't know enough about scoped 03s to say it is, that's way too high.

it's like people paying more than $3000 for an all matching 98k on there lately. people are fools.

I don't know if it's legit or not, but even if it is, I'd think $5-$7K would be more in line. USMC gear always brings more money.

According to Bruce Canfield's "An Illustrated Guide to the '03 Springfield Service Rifle" most of the M1903A1/Unertl rifles in circulation are fakes. Based on comparison to a known genuine cartouche, I believe the cartouche on this one

is fake. Fake cartouche stamps are unfortunately readily available http://cgi.ebay.com/M1-GARAND-STOCK-...item19c4e0496f. That doesn't mean the whole rifle is a fake, but it certainly raises the level of suspicion.
                  Revolvers are not pistols

pistol nouna handgun whose chamber is integral with the barrel
Calling a revolver a "pistol" is like calling a magazine a "clip", calling a shotgun a rifle, or a calling a man a woman.

No authentication paperwork, no legible serial number on the rifle, this guy is more of an idiot than his expected customers.

The M1903a1 Unertl rifles were supposed to be pretty accurate rifles. I read that they held around half MOA out to 600 yards with match ammo.
