    Bi-pod for the Mosin?

Tired of screwing with sandbags. What do you guys think of the barrel mounted bi-pods on your Mosins? Or better yet is there anything that clamps through the sling mount?

    Considering this one:

don't clamp anything to the barrel. it will throw off the harmonics and make it less accurate.

If you want something better than a sandbag, consider this instead of a barrel-mounted bipod that might affect accuracy.

I just got one, on sale for $31.99 until the end of the month http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct...tNumber=682659
        Revolvers are not pistols

pistol nouna handgun whose chamber is integral with the barrel
Calling a revolver a "pistol" is like calling a magazine a "clip", calling a shotgun a rifle, or a calling a man a woman.

The one you link to will scratch the barrel. If you can find one that is supported by the stock, go for it, but I don't know of one offhand.

This^^^^. Just use a field expedient rest like a ruck or backpack filled with towels. Works just fine.

Heck even a pair of shooting sticks will work, or you could do a tripod with three pieces of wooden dowels and some 550 cord.

How about a bipod mounting unit for the bayonet lug? Like this one for the Mauser 98

Mosins don't really have a bayonet lug, at least not like a Mauser's.

M39's do. I took a clamp on (that RUINED accurracy due to harmonic distortion on my Hakim) and fabbed a new top plate for it to fit on an M39 bayo lug. It works, but it just adds more weight to an already heavy rifle. When I hunt with it, I just use my backpack for a stable rest in the prone.
