Which scope mount for 91/30

Which scope mount would be the better choice. The Leapers UTG Tactical Tri Rail scope mount where no gunsmithing is needed or the scope mount from ATI where it required to be drill and tapped.

Please let's leave the I'm defacing a beautiful rifle stuff out of this as I have 2 91/30's and I plan to leave one as is and the other one modernized so I have the best of both worlds.

Do you already have a long eye relief scope ? The no gunsmithing mounts will
require a long relief scope. If I was drilling, I'd go for a VZ54 style mount & then
use an AK style scope.

I have not purchased a scope yet nor do I have any specific one in mind at the moment.

anything leapers/UTG is made for airsoft, I dont care how much High tech and high strength materials are used or how they call it designed for real guns. Which with leapers/UTG usually means aluminum or pot steel

There are some youtube videos which show people just taking off the entire rear sight assembly rather than just knocking out the pin and removing elevation piece. The rear sight assembly can be tapped out of a dovetail which you can mount a scope directly on using scope rings....it is claimed this is more secure and the sight can be put back on.

heard somewhere a Weaver side mount is the way to go. i haven't gotten to that point yet but that's what i plan on using on my sporter. i have a Swede Mauser sporter that's got a Weaver mount and it's great so i see no reason it wouldn't work well on a mosin. just for the record, the Swede came to me that way, i also have an original, and my mosin was a barreled action, i also have 2 of those that are original so don't break my balls, you know who you are...

Kalinka Optics sells very well made original isue WWII clone scopes and mounts. They claim Russian Made some people say they are Chinese.

+1 on the rock solid although I had a gunsmith drill and mount my scope. That sucker hasn't move a bit. Although if you go that route you'll have to get a bent bolt to clear the scope.

I also have the less expensive way of the long eye relief mount to the rear sight but it's not as stable.

Also change or fix your trigger. There's an easy way to do it versus buying a new trigger. Do a google search on fix mosin trigger and it'll come up. After one range trip and shooting over 100-150 rounds out of my mosin, my finger couldn't pull the trigger anymore cause of the heavy break. It was at about 12-14 lbs. Good for wartime to prevent errant shots but not good for range time

@elven soul, they are most definitely not chinese, nor are they russian. They are made on original tooling in Belarus.
