    time to order more Garands

Just posted on the discussion board:

LATEST CMP SALES NEWS - 10 August 2007.

M1 GARAND AVAILABILITY. The Army is in process of transferring another large shipment of Garands to the CMP. We expect to complete the transfer in the next few weeks and to begin our Inspection/Repair/Grading process on these rifles before the end of the year. Because of this, we are now again accepting orders for Garands. Initial orders will probably be shipped within 30 days, but customers should expect a 60-120 day delivery time, or possibly longer, depending on the item ordered and the initial flood of orders. More information, as it becomes available, will be posted on the CMP Sales forum and on the Garand web page at http://www.odcmp.com/Services/Rifles/m1garand.htm.

I'm going to wait, I already have a springfield. Orest posted at the CMP forum that the ones that went up for sale today are built up from barrelled recievers. The big shipment that just came in through Savannah hasn't even been opened yet, and won't be graded and announced until next year. I'll wait for a Winchester.

Better get my order form filled out.

Can't decide if Service Grade is worth the extra $100.

Did I miss something or are the service grade Springfields cheaper than last time?

From all indications those rifles will not be on sale until October as CMP SELECT GRADE. Based on the update the newly acquired rifles are the ones that will go out.

I slipped an Inland Carbine order in on the same form. I may or may not get one, but it is worth a shot if it means I don't have to share my only carbine with the wife anymore.

WOW, the days of $1000 CMP field grade Garands on the WTS boards are over... for now.

I'm need to find a notary tomorrow.

The frickin' CMP is going to be the death of me....

                      Garands are back?
                      Inlands still in stock?

Next thing you know they'll 'find' a cache of 1917s and M-14 parts kits....

                            NRA,

Can you tell us more about these built-up "barreled receivers"? As I understand, the current rifles up for sale are not the new shipment that are just coming in?

I'm cool unless that cache of 1917s or even 1903 turn up. Then I'll be a poor man!
