    Cheapest 8mm Mauser Ammo?

With shipping factored in this seems to be the best deal at $0.29 per round: http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.as...can&groupid=42

I don't even want to mess with the Yugo 50's crap. About 33% of the stuff I've fired doesn't even go bang, and seems to be par for the course from reading around. I want reliable ammo. Anybody seen a better deal?

Well, that 50's yugo "crap" is non magnetic, a huge advantage for some. A new firing pin spring might fix that. Not always, however.

Otherwise, if you keep an eye out for deals, it can be had for $.25 ftf sometimes.

My yugo ammo was the same way. My vz 24 was just striking lightly. I got a stronger main spring and that cleared the problem right up.

Yeah, it seems aim is your cheapest bet for anything non yugo surplus. Just sort by adjusted cost per round.

I guess I better "bite the bullet" so to speak and get stronger firing pin springs. I need them for a K98 and Yugo M24/47. Wheres a good place for those?

Paul... thanks for the link. Is it possible to have too powerful a spring and risk puncturing primers? I saw that Midway had them up to 30 lbs.

They are totally clean. I did a total detail strip and de-cosmolined the bugger(s).

Not sure if it is a distance thing or a pressure thing. They aren't expensive anyway. My 98K shoots the 50's yugo with the spring it came with every time. My 03 turk which barely passes field headspace, never does first time, with a new spring.

always a good place to start.

the stuff from AIM is pretty nice. I have shot a few tins of it. Messy but good accurate ammo.

The Yugo ammo definitely is cheaper. I just hope the heavier springs solve the problem.
