Will a M1895 Nagant ship to my door

Just got my FFL 03 today!!!

I've been browsing the threads looking for an answer but i feel as though I run into conflicting information.

So I just have 2 questions:

    1) Will a Pre- 1899 handgun ship to my door if purchased online
    and
    2) Does the guns original design have to be pre 1899 or its manufacture (i.e. a M1895 nagant manufactured in 1930'S)

Forgive me I'm a bit new to the whole C&R thing, trying to get as much info as possible

Handguns made before 1899 can ship right to your door. They are considered "antiques" and are not considered firearms under Federal law. They are still considered firearms under California law, but "antiques" are exempt from California's dealer transfer requirements. This kind of shipment has nothing to do with your C&R license. Everybody can have antique handguns shipped to their door.

The gun has to actually be manufactured before 1899 to be an "antique". An M1895 Nagant manufactured on December 31, 1898 is an antique, while one manufactured the next day on the same assembly line is not an antique.

M1895 Nagants manufactured in or after 1899 are C&R firearms. With your C&R license you can travel outside of California to acquire them in another State, then bring them home to California with you and register them by mailing in a form and $19 payment. But if the seller is shipping them into California they have to be transfered to you through a California dealer. If you have a C&R FFL and a Certificate of Eligibility then you can skip the 10 day waiting period when you pick the gun up from the California dealer.
