Hey every one,
i saw a Chilean Mauser for sale near me a few weeks back.it was about 350 or so, i had seen them is the sports guide a while back for a bit less. i asked the guy behind the counter about it he told me a few little bits of info but he did not seem to know much, none the less he was polite and let me hold it.
it said Steyr 1912 on the side and had 1964 stamped just below the crest on the receiver. it was rechambered for .308 some time (im guessing 1964) and the conversion was a bit on the messy side. i know some conversion are quality and others are horrible, like 308 mas 36's. there was grind marks and some welds were not smooth.
does any one have any experience with these? they look like a fun little carbine but i was a little put off on the workmanship on the conversion.
