Thwere isnt a Boyds stock made that doesnt need some fitting for proper fit and accuracy.
I believe these are the fatter versions and not the slimmer version of Boyds stocks
Dupage trading has the finished and unfinished walnut slimmed version for $10.00 more and in my opinion is worth it

I heard they need fitting, not plug and play.

Boyd's is ok, but I think the CMP and Dupage are profiled and fitted Boyds stocks and much nicer.

Profiled better yes, fitted no difference. CMP/Dupage/Boyds stocks will be a drop in fit and function but for tweaking the utmost accuracy they will need some fitting

I just purchased a CMP stock. Very nice and much better profile than the Boyd I had on the rifle. However, I am having trouble getting the front hand guard to fit into the lower band. Will probably have to do some fitting there. Edited to add: Got it with a few taps of a ball peen hammer!
