A bunch of nonsense but just goes to show how fashions change even in the gun biz.
The only Remington that I own is a typewriter...

...oh yeah, I also have a nail gun.

That typewriter was made by Remington-Rand which made 1911A1s in WW2 but no rifles. Interesting how many non firearms makers had no trouble making firearms in WW2 such as Remington-Rand, Smith Corona, IBM, Saginaw Steering Gear, General Motors, and others that don't come to mind right now. But then auto manufacturers made aircraft (Ford B24s; General Motors F4F Wildcat, TBM torpedo bomber) so I guess it isn't too surprising.

Guys, how are you not seeing this as a Troll post? The OP has a whopping 12 posts, comes in and says that he found a valuable collector's piece under his mom's bed in mint condition, and he now wants to bubba-fy it. Hello? You are being played here.

Mine was made before Remington Typewriters merged with Rand. However, as I understand it, Remington Typewriters was a separate entity from Remington Arms at the time (ca. 1920). I also happen to own a Remington-Rand however.

Don't wish to add to the troll discussion.

The original post may have been a troll but look how much discussion we've gotten out of it!
