    CZ 52 problem

no this isn't a duplicate thread.

When I fire my CZ 52 after about the third or fourth mag through it. The slide doesn't lock in all the way, you have to push it to get the rollers to lock all the way. I've tried to lube it up more and have new Harrington rollers and new roller cam installed.

Could this be a problem with my barrel assembly going bad, since there is a little play in the roller cam on the barrel.

I have only fired Romanian surplus through it; should I try some different ammo before getting a new barrel for it? The Romanian is pretty clean surplus but still gets it dirty. Should I try some new production 7.62 and then get a new barrel for it? Since I would like to keep it all numbers matching if I can.

    Thanks
    Mike

    That's a pretty odd problem...

I was thinking that the cam might be out of spec, but if there's play in it that shouldn't be a problem. Are you seeing any unusual wearing on the cam or slide?

I just had a similar occurrence when i was breaking in the new barrel i got from SG.
It seemed to me it was a chamber issue, so i polished out the chamber. Haven't tested it yet..The barrel worked great , just occasionally wouldn't go fully into battery. I got the new barrel because they are cheap and it keeps the round count down on the original. If i want it back to original it takes about two minutes to swap out barrels, the CZ-52 is the easiest pistol to breakdown that I have.

well I take the barrel assembly and spring out of the slide. There's not any odd or unusual wear on the slide anywhere; but when I put the barrel under tension with the spring by itself and then move the cam under spring tension the cam clicks into place and you have to apply more pressure to get it past this point.

So I'm thinking that there is some wear on the barrel where the cam slides past since the cam I bought is brand new and so are the rollers.

Is this a good theory? Perhaps new stripped barrel?

What did you polish the chamber with?

+1 for breakdown on the pistol....it's like thirty seconds! It's awesome!

Numrich also has new barrels for $39 and original military barrels for $33 too.

Check the slide stop arm to see if it is bent.

BTW, don't ever trust your decocker on that gun.

                  I have two 52's.

One that is more of a collector as it only has one punch on the slide and I made my own grips out of a Brazilian Hardwood, the other with the decocker problem is the slut. I just keep feeding and firing.

On my 2nd barrel and 2nd slide.

When I say slut, I mean slut.
                  Got it LDH?
