    C & R question

While doing the DROS today on a new Ruger Single Six, the FFL doing the transfer couldn't find this gun in the list while filling out the online form. It wasn't until I called a gunsmith friend to learn that, because this gun is a single action, it is in the Curio, Relic, and Exempt list. Finally got it all done, but my question is, as a C & R gun, is it exempt from any of the other restrictions placed on semiautos and DA guns? Apparently, the 10-day wait still holds, but is there anything I should know that makes this gun 'special' in our Golden State? TIA.

If it is indeed a C&R and you had a C&R license and a COE, I believe you could buy it with no 10 day wait. If you were in another state with a C&R, you could buy it, bring it home, then just send in the $19 to DOJ when you returned. But if you're a CA resident and no FFL03 w/ COE, you're outta luck and have to go through the normal California rules. (10 day wait, etc.)

The single action revolver exemption has nothing to do with it being C&R or not.

If it is newly manufactured it cannot be fifty years old and qualify as C & R. Single Action revolvers are exempt from the Safe Handgun list if they are of the proper dimensions. Because they are exempt they are not listed on the list.

"Private party transfers, curio/relic handguns, certain single-action revolvers, and pawn/consignment returns are exempt from this requirement." "This requirement" is being listed on the list.
