1943 mosin info please

Im new to these and was wondering where this is from etc. I think its an x-sniper rifle? Is having the matching stock with it, help value at all. Are these anymore valuable? All numbers match except bolt. Is it still a $80 rifle?

What you have is a 1943 Mosin Nagant M91/30 made at the Izhevsk arsenal. It was originally a PU sniper but has been converted to a standard rifle configuration during one of its refurbishments. Looks like a good wartime rifle! Enjoy it.

How do you tell if a mosin is and Ex-PU? I had several and couldnt figure it out, one of them actually had tally marks in the hand grip on the stock, wish i didnt sell her

First off, thanks again Backstrap for the purchase.

This particular rifle has the holes plugged where the scope mount was.
I bought it for 140 bucks, was it worth that much...maybe not, but I didn't care at the time.

Interloper-It never had the cleaning rod.

Can you tell if it has been rebuilt? Ive heard of them having more than 1 factory stamp? Anyone know whaere I can get a reproduction mount and scope? I looked and cant find any. Thanks again for the help guys.

99.9% of the 91/30's you will see have been rearsenaled at least once. Rearsenaling can be anything from a coat of shellac on the stock to a complete overhaul, it all depended on what the rifle needed at the time to be "battle" ready for the next war.
Reproduction mounts and scopes are all over. Just check ebay and gunbroker. Do some research and you can get a deal on real mounts and scopes, which is better than reproduction for sure. Beware, some reproductions are done very well and are hard to tell the difference. Youll need to have the bolt handle bent, inlet the stock for the scope base, drill and tap the receiver. Its doable and not hard but not easy either. Those welded plugs can be a beast.
By the time your all said and done you could get a real, legit PU sniper from RGuns ($800) for a little more than it will cost to restore your exsniper.

it was a cabellas special for $75, I sold my entire collection before moving to Ca from Wa, I took a greyhound and could only afford to send my K98, then attempted to put it back together once I got here, but once those special rifles are gone, theyre gone...
