    need an m39 trigger spring...

The new m39 I aquired is missing the little leaf spring that makes the trigger tighter. At the time I thought it would be an easy find but I haven't had any luck so far.

Are you referring to the trigger free play spring in a S&W M39? If so, that part hasn't changed very much and has carried forward all the way to the 3rd gen 39xx series.

Try giving S&W customer service a call to see they have them in stock. You can buy the spring at Brownells but the rivet is out of stock, and Numrich has both for a slightly higher price than Brownells.

Ahhh, got it. The S&W M39 is also a C&R and that's why it came to mind, there's been questions over on the S&W forum about the the trigger free play spring and the OP's question sounded the same.

            Revolvers are not pistols

pistol nouna handgun whose chamber is integral with the barrel
Calling a revolver a "pistol" is like calling a magazine a "clip", calling a shotgun a rifle, or a calling a man a woman.

I collect Military Arms and enjoy shooting in local matches. I also collect older Lever Actions, especially those chambered in odd/old cartridges. If you have a nice old Winchester or Marlin in 25-20, 32-40, 38-55, 40-60, 45-70, etc etc, please PM me and we can work out a deal.

I assumed he mistakenly called that spring a "little leaf spring" (it is actually a torsion spring). It is the only spring that I know of that "makes the trigger tighter".

Yup that's the one. Sometimes I get something stuck in my head and that's the way it comes out. It drives my wife nutty.
