    Replacement stock for a SxS

I need some help finding a replacement stock for a shotgun I recently picked up.
Its a crescent arms enders special service, the buttstock is badly damaged and is basically beyond repair at this point. This gun is a shooter and I intend to use it.
So far ive had little luck finding a replacement stock and ive been thinking about making my own out of a blank. While the idea of making my own stock out of a blank is an interesting prospect and would be a fun project it would be a lot cheaper to find a replacemant.
So does anyone have good sites to peruse or am I outta luck?
Ill try to post some pics of the damage tonight.

When you say badly damaged, how so ? The reason I ask is I have heard there are guys who will duplicate a stock for a pretty reasonable fee. The wood can be pricey but I'd guess for something like this, a basic piece of walnut would work and not be too bad but the part being copied needs to be in one piece.

I bought a replacement stock for a Stevens 235 SxS and a Winchester 97 from Gunstockinc.com. I can atest that they make a quaility repro stock and I would not hesitate to buy again.

Just be prepared to do a bit more sanding and shaping than what you'd expect, the term "semi finished" has a wide interpretation.

Also, if they don't have a replacment, you'd be surprised at how some stocks thought to be beyond repair can actually be brought back to life by grafting in new wood or using Brownell's Accra-glass to glue things back together and fill in missing wood.

I saw an example of that on a Winchester-Hotchkiss 1883 rifle where Accra-glass dyed brown to match the stock, was used to replace missing wood around the grip tang area, then it was artificially "grained' with black paint using a fine artist's brush to match the surrounding wood (a tried and true technique used for repairing antique furniture) and then top coated.

To the casual observer not knowing that the stock was repaired, they would have been hard pressed to notice it... I didn't until the gunsmith I was talking to about stock repairs pointed it out.

        Post pics if you can.
