    Original configuration question...

    Say I have two MN's.
One has a barrel with an Ishvek stamp and a stock with a Tula stamp.

The other has a barrel with a Tula stamp and an unstamped stock.

(I only have the first one, not the second, this is a hypothetical question)

If I bought these rifles with FFL3, am I allowed to swap stocks or do they have to stay as original from the importer?

I don't see how this would be a problem because they are original period parts. Besides, they might be all mixed up when bought from the dealer anyway.

You would be fine since they would still be in their original military configuration. The stocks were switched during the refurb anyway, you are just restoring the natural order of things.

The changes ATF are concerned with are sporterizing; shortening the barrel, switching the original wood stock for a plastic stock, etc.

You can replace any of the parts (except the receiver) as long as they replicate the original parts, even new reproduction parts are acceptable.
