I need to send my M1 Garand out of state to the person who built it for me. Can I just box it up and ship it UPS or do I need a copy of his FFL to present to UPS? Also, I have heard that you can ship rifles through the USPS ... is that true? Thanks for any help you guys can give me.

I have shipped several via USPS and never had a problem. I just box it up and send it priority mail with signature required.
(That is assuming that the person that built it for you has an FFL)
Here is an informative link.
