I have one with the brick red fiberglass stock. It's my favorite SKS.
I don't know what's with his top handguard and muzzle break, they don't add a lot to the looks. What did he do with the bayonet?

The deception is in the statement...

          "red plastic or bakelite"

The reader is meant to believe that the owner does not know what it is.
Anyone with half a brain knows that bakelite was in use up to and just after WWII. After WWII, bakelite went out of favor because of it's expensive production costs.

I found it interesting that the listing is supremely anti-California and that we are a bunch of "insert bad word here".

I saw a "bakelite" sks at a shop in AZ.
              Maybe it was the fiberglass.
              It was Russian though.
              Did they make them?
              It was only like $350

Yeah, I didn't read that far at first:

As you may be aware California has decided it is not part of the United States and now all guns must be approved by the Department of Justice in California before shipping to an FFL dealer in California I call it the Californication factor and anyone living there should be suing the state every day.

                What a tool.

However misinformed he is, I see his point.
At least he isn't blaming us on a personal level. haha. (some sellers do).

                    Good deal, maybe not.

My following rant is directed towards the seller of said SKS...

Real bakelite is a very rare thing to find. In fact, bakelite buttplates for Winchester rifles are going for $15 at a minimum. To have a complete bakelite stock for a rifle would be very rare indeed.
In fact, if I knew that a rifle featured a real stock made of bakelite, that was in fact from the period and part of the original configuration for $350, then I would jump on it insanely fast.

When I was in Thailand, I perused the jewelry shops and they really loved to call their plastic jewelry 'bakelite". The red plastic had a unique texture.

Real bakelite is dark in color and has particles that can be seen throughout. When you see bakelite, you will know it.

Now, imagine you were China, Russia or whomever. You wanted to make millions of rifles to be used in the cold war. Which would you choose, a $1 wood stock or a $10 bakelite stock?

I'm not very happy with the SKS guy, if you haven't noticed.
