This is a popular C&R handgun, and I enjoy mine as much as anyone. I have heard that the half-cock safety is safer than the add-on required by import laws....that you could rely on the half-cock safety as much as anything.
I'm here to say that is bogus information! DON'T RELY ON MECHANICAL SAFETIES!!
I discovered this fact while dry-firing my TTC. With a hard enough pull on the trigger, the half-cock safety was defeated and the hammer fell on the firing pin.
I can't upload the video I took (is anyone willing to upload to YouTube for me?), but here's photos of hammer at Half-cock:

And the hammer hitting the firing pin after pulling on the trigger hard enough.
