Thanks to a great Calgunner I picked up this Savage #4mk1* last week. All matching, prefect bore. Just a couple shipping dings from its journey from overseas to Century Arms. Calguns is the best for buying and selling!

    Very nice looking 4mk1.
I have to agree about Calguns. I've met some great people and found some sweet rifles.

Calgunner also hooked me up with my first Enfield! It was awesome, I feel so lucky that I go this chance.

          Cheers.

The long-term Lee Enfield hands are familiar with the AJ Parker 8/53 backsight attachment but for the folks that are new to the game I thought this will be of interest. I picked up 3 of these from British Small Arms in the early 90s. It is meant for the #8 rifle to give windage adjustment but works fine for the #4 rifle too. It attaches through the peep opening on the MkI sight. The downside is that elevation will top out around 600 yds (so I have read). I've used it out to 400 yds and had a lot of elevation left. I have a Savage marked MkI sight with the battle peep somewhat crudely whacked off so I put the 8/53 on it and have put the whole thing on the Savage Mk1* that I obtained last week. The other two 8/53s reside on my 7.62mm #4s.

I'm looking forward to giving it a go this coming weekend.

That's really neat. I bet that would do wonders with target shooting.

Nice rear sight! PM or e-mail me with when you are planning on going shooting. I'd love to see your new toy.
