a few days after i bought my Mosin Nagant... i put in Call of Duty World At War with the soul purpose to use a Mosin Nagant and a K98. Was pretty interesting. What i really want to know though, is what are the full 100% proof marks on a Nagant that can tell it was used in war?

If the stories are to be believed they had more conscript soldiers than rifles. I'd assume most if not all pre 1945 were issued. I don't think they have any specific marks to say which ones were actually used at the front instead of lounging on guard duty.

If it was made before 1945, it was used in WW2. Some 1945's were as well, but there are no Soviet proof marks that we know of that tell the history of an individual rifle.

However, if a Soviet rifle has the Finnish [SA] mark, it was used by the Soviets against the Finns, and then the Finns against the Soviets.

figure the Soviets made around 17,000,000 91/30s during the 2nd World War. they fielded more troops than that. the chances of owning a Mosin that wasn't issued is slim.

and, actually, chances are good it was issued to somebody during the Korean War as well. some even fought in the hands of the Vietnamese during the Vietnam War.

Odds are high that it was used. thin is a lot of them have replacement barrels (the B in a circle proof.) there has been very very few rifles that were unissued, i have only seen 1 in real life and a user on another forum.
One of mine was made in 42, then used at a soviet training school and then given to Poland, then returned then refurbed in Ukraine.

You will see them handing out 91/30s just like yours, but they don't have enough for everyone. They hand out one out to every other soldier and tell the ones without a rifle to follow the ones with a rifle. After the ones with rifle get killed the ones without are to pick up the dead man's rifle.

Earlier in the scene you see deserters getting shot with M1895 Nagant revolvers.

You mentioned COD World at War.

Thosw frackers messed up the Mosin.

Not only did they make the straight bolt a little bent (which I've never really seen, except for this one time at Cow Palace, where somone was selling a beat to **** Mosin with its orginial straight bolt turned bent (not to be confused with a sniper mosin bolt body)).

Also, the Mosin sounds hideously lame in that game, and they should have made the sights a little more clear. I found them somewhat hard to use in the game and it pisses me off because it has the exact same sight profile of the PPSh and they did not screw that one up.


Other than that, I did used the Mosin a couple of times for the sake of loving that rifle. But with a scope, the Mauser was my favorite to use. Gotta give props to the Arisaka for its iron sights which I liked to use with just the bayonet on hardcore mode.

There were about that many 91/30's built in total. That means 1927-1945. However, that does not include the M91, the M38, or the M44 which were also manufactured and/or issued during the war.

Having said that, they're all awesome rifles with a lot of history!

I wonder if my computer could handle World at War.

I remember COD 1 and 2 along with Medal of Honor and MOHAA Spearhead.
I played those games a lot when I was like 12 and I always loved the old guns in them, I never thought I could grow up and own some of them.
I used the mauser sniper A LOT in the bell tower and garand.
Pretty cool.
