    My first Mosins

Well, I finally pulled the trigger and ordered 4 91/30's from AIM last week. I took the afternoon off to wait for UPS to show, which was a waste because they didn't get here until after 6pm.

I was hoping to get some good pics of them all outside before the sun went down, but that idea was a bust so here's some crappy cell phone pics taken inside my hovel.

    Big Box!

    Full of smaller boxes.

    Full of goodies!

Wow, 4 at a time. I have an awful feeling it will come to that for me soon!

Congrats and I hope you enjoy them all. I don't love any other gun as much as my 91/30's. Good for you! Order butt pads and ammo

                      All hexes too. Good show.
That first stock in the group photo has a really neat repair. Screwed in SSE's too. What about the other stocks?
Nice haul. What was the total with shipping, if I may ask?

Oh wow. I'm impressed! I just ordered one the other day. It's a hex too. I can't wait for it to get here. I like the second rifle from the left, the one with the darker stock.

Wow, I hadn't even noticed that repaired stock and screwed in SSE while taking the pics. When I get around to cleaning it I'll see if there's anything else unusual about it. For the record it's the 1925 with s/n 34893.

The back one in that shot is the one I worked on cleaning today. After doing some research I went out and bought a steamer and that seems to do a really good job of melting the cosmoline off of the metal, I then hit everything with a healthy dose of CLP and let it sit before drying it off. The rifling looks good but the bore may be a little dark. I want to get some Kroil and a plug to soak it for a day and see how it looks after that.

The total for the 4 rifles and the 10 extra ammo pouches ($0.50 each when you buy 10!) was $380.76. Ordered last Friday morning and they arrived yesterday (Thursday). The hex receivers are $10 more than rounds at AIM, but I like the look of them better. Another thing handy about AIM is they have it set up so you can easily upload an image of your FFL and drivers license to your account, bar far the best site of the surplus dealers I've looked at.
