Is that a cleaned up original stock?

The stock came on an early Springfield Inc. Rifle that was built in 1980 or so. I am not sure who made it but I doubt it was Boyd's. The stock was originally soaked in BLO which I scraped off and then refinished with many coats of tung oil with light sanding in between.

Beautiful finish on that stock. Nice shooting, too. Did you mean that the whole Garand is SAI? Or just that the stock is SAI, but the barrelled receiver is something else? If so, which maker is it?

Just the stock is SAI, I put the rest together out of USGI part except the barrel which is a Douglas.

Good shooting. May I ask- what distance was this group fired at? What ammunition? You said the rifle had been rebarreled with a Douglas- is it a .308 or .30-06?

Nosler 168gr HPBTM over 46 grains of IMR4895 sparked by a CCI#34 primer. Chambering is 30-06 and it is a 6 grove barrel with I believe a 1-10" twist.
