    C&R Build Now Complete

It took about 9 months total starting with the purchase of a 5.3 mil receiver from the CMP. I bought parts from about 5 different sources and always specified new or like new parts. Had enough parts to put two guns together but this is the one I am going to keep.

As mentioned, 5.3 mil Springfield receiver the kind they were selling that were already reparked

Douglas/Barnett heavy match barrel with 6 groove rifling

    SA-12 bolt
    New PB oprod
    Hooded targer front sight
    NM rear Apperature
    New Spings all around
And a nice stock that I refinished which was original to a Springfield Inc. M1 Copy that was put together in 80' or 81'. If this girl can shoot, I'll be getting a higher end Weneg to drop her in.

I was hoping to be able to bring it to the garand shoot in June 30th but I don't think I'll have time to sight it in first.

Very nice Indeed, What was the total Price?

Buying from 5 different sources, any fit issues?
          I might go this route......

Nice gun. I've been wanting a Garand but I can't justify adding yet another caliber to the mix.

How much did I spend, way too much. I saved all of the receipts but havn't found the guts to add them all up yet.

                  Very nice.

                  No price tag! Come on!

Let others know the price that you put on a labor of love. Some people find buying an assembled rifle appealing, while other find a joy in assembling their own worth the extra cost. Calgunners can appreciate that. There is no shame is spending your hard earned money assembling something that you enjoy.

                    Gorgeous.

Congratulations on the addition to the family.

Alright, I added up all of the numbers inlcuding gunsmithing charges to head space and install the barrel which I had to get parked first because it came int in the white. Also keep in mind I already had the stock.

$1,100.90 and its still less than a Fulton or DGR match grade rifle.
