That's a suspiciously low price. See attached and keep in mind that many "No. 5 SMLE" carbines started out as No 4s.

$150 sounds good, assuming that it hasn't been messed with. Usaully I see these go for $250 or more. I paid $125 and that was over 10 years ago! They are a bit of a pain, recoil-wise.

It's been re-stocked, but the reciever looks correct.

Well... I think it would be hard to find correct furniture. For a shooter, it would be alright, but these aren't really good shooters. They have a harsh recoil and their sights are known to wander quite a bit. Still, $150 is a pretty good price and if you like projects, then go for it.

                Here's pics of mine:

Since your's is a 46 date, it should have the sheet metal cap, third in the picture. Ian Skennerton sells a book on No.5's.

Yea I like projects. I would like to find the or a handguard to go with it. The end of the stock (muzzle side) is like a ball its rounded , missing the sheet metal , infact I dont even see where the band that holds the front of the handgaurd worn into the wood , it made have been taken off along time ago.

Looks like a good deal for $150. I love my No5. One thing you may want to do is consider getting a full No5 stock set. Or at least pickup a new forearm, upper handguard, and barrel band. That should help with stabilization when firing, and also gives you a sling mount.

Yea I think I am going to , if I can find for pretty cheap. The only number matching part of the wood is the handgaurd yea? I might even go with a factory buttstock. I shot it today , doesnt kick as bad as I thot it would.

If you need parts this company has them and/or will help find them. They have came thru with some oddball parts for me. Also Ebay has parts.
