    Stock maker/Making equipment for a M-28/76 Stock?

Anyone know where I could get a Stock reproduced at? I was thinking about the M-28/76 stock and how it would be a great stock for a hunting gun, no permanant mods to the stock, but the M-28/76 is an expensive bird already, I would kind of worry about busting/tearing up the stock. Plus then I could paint it if I wanted.

This is an M-39 mounted in the stock and modified to use the M-28/76 Bolt. I bought it as a barrelled reciever with the plan to restore it, but the parts to restore it would have cost more than the receiver itself. I plan on mounting a PE scope on it, making it somewhat similar to the TVAK-85

    Revolvers are not pistols

pistol nouna handgun whose chamber is integral with the barrel
Calling a revolver a "pistol" is like calling a magazine a "clip", calling a shotgun a rifle, or a calling a man a woman.

thinking of the same project, here is my list:

        wood rasp
        paring chisel
        files
        drill
        dremel
cheapest available hardwood in dimensions required: maple
        oil
shellac (since I already have a large supply)

I am still looking for the dimensions though, if I find them I will PM you

P.S. Subject to change without notice, I may have too many winter projects already

That stock is a target rifle design more than a regular military issue stock. You have nothing to lose by sending them a picture and asking (assuming you think the price is reasonable. The charge does not include the cost of the wood).

Thanks. I actually am building a copy-carver machine so I can create and duplicate gun stocks, but it'll definitely take me a good long while before I get the machine finished, shake out the bugs, and practice enough to turn out anything I'd be comfortable selling commercially, so I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for me. Besides, I might get lynched if I focus on any other rifle product and keep people waiting on those 10-round Mosin magazines.

Thank Ive seen that one from when I first got the M-28/76. That guy took an already accurate rifle and modified it into an accurate rifle. I love the 7.62x54 cartridge, aint no use in changing it. I mean its been going for over 100 years now with no end in sight.

                  The TKIV-85 looks like this

here is a better pic. lots of pics herehttp://www.elisanet.fi/gliderpilot/maanpuolustus.htm

Original scope mounts and scopes are made of unobtanium, even for someone in Finland. So a Good PE repro with the option of using a modern scope is what I most likely will do.

Im thinking of parting out the rest of the M-28/76 that this stock came off of, I only need one actual 28/76. nice thing is both of the 28/76 barrels slug at .308. Nice tight barrels, but cant/wont use surplus in them. Another reason for the M-39 Convert.
