Is this where the CMP gets their Springfields?

Sometimes I really wonder what kind of prior treatment the CMP 1903s and M1917s got before they sold them to us.

The commenters on YouTube say that it is a Daisy Drill Rifle http://www.daisy.com/shopping/custom...cat=253&page=1
    Revolvers are not pistols

pistol nouna handgun whose chamber is integral with the barrel
Calling a revolver a "pistol" is like calling a magazine a "clip", calling a shotgun a rifle, or a calling a man a woman.

Yeah, that's not a real gun. You can tell by looking at the all black stock.

        On the flip side:

Even if those were real and then sold through the CMP....what that kid did shouldn't even be a problem for a military rifle. If it is, then we're in trouble!

I know a lot of people will talk trash, but what he said is true. When I was in high school, I was on the armed drill team in NJROTC. Doing what he did takes hours of practice and dedication. Good job kid.

That kid needs to do some situps or something though. Not only is he kind of tubby, which doesn't look very military, but it'll help with his core strength when he's drilling with that rifle. When you're doing those maneuvers you're not supposed to bend your waist or lean over. It's supposed to be military bearing at all times.

A lot of demilled 03 or 1917 were provided to high school cadet corp (a Calif thing) or ROTC for drill purposes and color guards.

VFW and American Legion used to carry them in small town parades as well.

At the recent Veteran's day service the local JROTC had a beautiful 03A1 as one of the color guard weapons. It was deactivated. I've seen Army color guards with 03A3s minus the bolt and the front sight blade removed. Guess they don't want anything snagging.
