Awesome! I love the M44's giant fireball! I was almost disappointed when I got my first mosin (a 91/30) and it didn't breathe fire like the M44 I shot. "Almost" being the key word there .

Of course! It actually hurts my shoulder to shoot the M44 more than about 20 times without the recoil pad my roommie bought for it, but I shot my 91/30 over a hundred times within two days and I'm no worse for wear .
My hands feel like someone hit them with a shovel though. Then again, I probably should have refrained from dual wielding the Glock 27 and S&W Airlight with .38+p. Yeah, that was probably what did it.

            Beautiful!
You will never, in your life, have a chance like this again.
If I were you, I would not pass this up. I would not let this go by...this is rare.
            Come on...what harm??

You were standing when you shot the 91/30? I start to feel it around 30 rounds when I'm in the prone. That and I was shooting the 98K prone too for 20 rounds, so yeah...

When I shoot the Mosin offhand, it doesn't feel like there is any recoil.

Yup all 100 rounds were off hand. I still can't figure out how to shoot prone. Every time I think about how to do it, I think the gun is going to recoil into my clavicle. I'll figure it out eventually.

Oh man, there was this time when I hastily got prone and fired and it slammed straight into there. OUCH!

Just experiment with it and somehow make it fit you. I did by working on my carpet before taking it and shooting. You just have to find the sweetspot by moving your body and shoulder. If it matters, I lay flat on my stomach.

I'll have to try it sometime. As of now, there's not really a place I can shoot prone unless I'd like to lie in the critter-infested dirt, or take up two benches at the local range, so I don't really have a want/need to do it.
