        Lube her up a bit more, bolt ears and grooves, op rod groove, clean your gas system up and check for carbon build up, replace the main op rod spring with a new one and I bet your problem will go away. Regards

          Fails when hand cycled (Dummy Rounds) or cycled by firing.

              I'm a bit tired to look it up now, but google M1 stoppages. 4th and 7th rnd stops can be common M1 issues. I have an old GI manual that trouble shoots these problems and suggest the problem parts. I'm sure a simple google search will provide the same table and may help before going to the smith.
