    British P37 web belt, question

So I bought this belt to go with a tanker holster and bobbed Enfield No.2 Mk I* revolver.
The set up looks great but the belt clasp (can't really call it a buckle) can be talked into opening, a stern look might even do the job.
Is there a trick to keeping it on and secured? do I need to bend the clasps a little? does it need to be worn REALLY tight?

old SxS shotguns, Enfields (Irish contract or FF marked), RIC marked carbines or revolvers, odd ball flintlocks.

The hooked clasp (male) on the '37 Pattern belt buckle goes through the hole of the female part of the buckle, and the hooked clasp partially wraps around a "bar" which keeps it secure. I've owned several '37 and '58 Patt. belts and never had any problems with them coming undone. When the belt is on tight, unclasping the buckle can be a little tricky.
