My M1 Carbine

I got a decent WWII Carbine for $580 with 1k of ammo, matching correct bayonet, spare slide(PI), trigger housing(U) and a round bolt(AI) and a bunch of small parts. I think I overpaid for it, but I think it cleaned up well. I've always wanted one of these and this one is nice except for where the guy put his damn SSN on the side of the receiver.
This is in my curio collection, not for sale or anything.

That's over $400 worth of ammunition. Another $50-$75 for the bayonet and at least another $150 for all the spare parts. You do the math. You stole that carbine.

Sweet carbine.
My dad used to put his SSN on everything, so I don't think that it's so unusual for who might have owned it. Nowadays, an SSN on anything is a sure fire way to get robbed.

30-40 years ago no one cared about SSNs. When I first joined the Army we put our full SSNs on everything including the duffle bag. Engraving your SSN on firearms was a big thing for awhile.
