    C&R liscense backlog?

What is the current processing time for C&R license after debit from your account?

I thought I was beating the rush by sending it in August. It has been 9 weeks.. almost 10.

I mailed my application on August 31st, they received it on September 2nd, they charged my credit card on September 3rd and I received the license in the mail on September 25th. The info packet with the CD arrived while I was on vacation, it was postmarked October 17th.

                I'm all over it
                Thanks for the push
I'll post back if anyone is interested in the what where and why

It is definitely not due to any legal issues. I have security clearance at sensitive facilities
and just picked up a handgun out of DROS just last week

Maybe that has something to do with it. Not that you are in any trouble but maybe you got flagged for deeper scrutiny?

I put in a change of address thirty days before I moved (Sept 1st), and didn't get it until thirty days after (Oct 30th) I moved into the new place....I had to call several times and left several messages, all of which went unanswered. I was finally told the there was a personnel shake up that was creating the backlog.

As of Monday Nov 15, they are quoting a 60-90 day processing time from date of receipt.

I got an email response from ATF
As I stated in a previous post they processed my account $32 on 9.20.10

The email states that they received the application October 6th
                            Do the math

Then per the posts since I started this thread they quoted a 60 approval denial process

Throw in some holidays and I would expect to receive my C&R in January
and I thought I was beating the rush.... barely

So anyone trying to get a C&R now will take 4 months or more if you add the anticipated backlog that the PRK is creating for law abiding citizens

The first time seems to take longer than the renewals. I've renewed 3 or 4 times now and it's usually 6 weeks or so. The first one took 3 months, IIRC.
