Please do. Garand parts kits would be a blast to assemble.

Northridge Int'l has a parts kit without receiver for $250. I don't know what all that includes, but if it is complete with stock that would be a fairly inexpensive build. Probably has one of their MT stocks now that I look closer.

Kit is all the way at the bottom of page.

The barrels on the Northridge kits might be at best rack grade.....

The CMP was selling "part kits" for around $295 a few months back... they even came with the receivers

oh yeah, if you can live with the "maple" 1/2 inch extension... the wood on these MT stocks (if cleaned up) is very nice!!

Several years ago while I was going through my gun snob phase, I remember getting Sportsman's Guide catalogs with the $99 M1 Garand parts kits. I used to wonder how USELESS a receiverless Garand would be, and thought, "what a stupid redneck catalog, who buys this crap", and chucked it in the trash.

Ironically, several years before that I would read SG catalogs religiously and repeatedly like discovering the word of God for the first time.

Now, I feel like a complete moron for not buying a reparked barreled receiver from the CMP along with those $99 parts kits.

I thought that would have be a buy me flag??

Four years later what else could you haver bought for $99 that today can bring $450~$600 on ebay. A $100 bond maybe? But alas I did it for love.

i think i'm gong to wait for CMP to get more service grades in and then get 3 or 3.....by the time you buy parts kits and a receiver.....that pretty much equals a CMP service grade.
